Our vision is to help people to live their life in alignment with their values and in balance with nature, and in doing so, help all beings and the planet to thrive in abundant harmony.
We want to make sustainable, circular living beautiful, accessible, seamless and easy. We want to make it as easy as ducking down to the supermarket or getting your groceries delivered, but in a way that’s supportive of local communities and economies, in balance with nature, and with respect for our collective stakeholders: people, animals and the planet.
We’ve set the foundations for everything we do in our Core Values - being kind, conscious and open - and we’re progressively bringing together values-aligned makers and products that share our core values to create a marketplace and community that functions with kindness, consciousness and transparency.
We’ve developed a short Alignment Questionnaire, where we ask each of our suppliers about their approach to ethics, design, provenance, packaging, sustainability and waste.
We ask how sure they are that they operate responsibly – that is, how sure they are that their operations meet the standards and laws of all places where they operate – and whether they meet safety regulations and have any certifications.
We ask whether they have a positive approach to diversity and inclusion, pay their employees a fair wage, and pay their fair share of taxes, in the right place and at the right time, and how they support their community.
And while these questions are not all-determining, we believe they give insight into a business’ intentions, how they operate, and how aligned their products are with our Core Values and Vision. They’re a business imperative for us, and non-negotiable in forming our values-aligned, kind marketplace and community.

"Looking beyond the current "take, make and dispose” extractive industrial model, the circular economy is restorative and regenerative by design. Relying on system-wide innovation, it aims to redefine products and services to design waste out, while minimising negative impacts. Underpinned by a transition to renewable energy sources, the circular model builds economic, natural and social capital."
Ellen Macarthur Foundation
In line with our vision, values and everything we’re being for you, we believe the circular economy is the way forward and we're adopting a functioning and aspirational circular business model, where we aim to emulate the cycles of nature in everything we do.
We live in a world of finite natural resources, but our current norm is to keep using them and discarding them like they’re infinite, decimating our natural world on both ends of the supply chain.
“Waste-free wisdom is all around us. It’s embodied in nature (where the idea of waste is completely foreign) and in our past (where durability and frugality were prized), and it will likely be at the core of our future. If we can lean where the waste problem came from and understand what makes it tick, we can then design our way out of it – all while increasing abundance and prosperity.”
Tom Szaky, The Future of Packaging
The products we offer have been designed, made or sourced because they demonstrate the principles of the circular economy and use less resources, are durable and can be reused, and minimise or eradicate waste. They're progressively being made with materials that have been used before and/or that can be deconstructed and re-purposed, regenerated or remanufactured, or that will biodegrade back to the earth. Each come with 'End-of-life' ideas to help our community to execute on their circularity in our aim to send nothing to landfill, ever, both in our operations, and when one of our products has come to the end of its life with you. Currently only very few products in our range have aspects which need to be 'thrown away' to landfill, and you can be sure we're working on those.
To support our model and commitment to a circular way of business, we actively share information about service providers that can help us all to reduce what we send to landfill, and we’d love to hear from your organisation if you’re doing this too – the more knowledge we all have about ways to reduce our waste, the better we can each live how we really want to: more aligned with our values and in a better balance with nature, every day.
We're also a member of Terracycle's Beauty Products Recycling Program and Mailing Satchel Recycling Program ~ some of the common stuff that we all have that can't be recycled kerbside.
If you've got empty beauty products which can't be recycled kerbside and they're shown here, clean them of product and find a local drop off point or send them to us to pass onto Terracycle for recycling. Likewise if you have one of these mailing satchels, find a drop off location near you here, or send them back to us to pass onto Terracycle: Life Wild, The Kollective Mullum, 2/116 Stuart St, Mullumbimby NSW 2482.
We’re always looking for organisations to support in this area, and we’d love to collab with you in building a circular business model – please do get in touch if you’d like to chat: email@example.com
We care about our local communities, industries and economies, and we believe in working to bring back skills and industry that’s diminished in recent decades.
We will always try to source our products from Australian businesses (while some of their products have been made overseas, they are designed and made for these Australian businesses), and our Life Wild products are all made in Australia, from Australian materials, using Australian skills and resources.
There are so many benefits of this ~ significantly lower carbon footprints, and positively supporting local people, communities, industry and economies. We’ve big plans here and we’re so looking forward to investing our profits into establishing this in a larger and more impactful way.
Every year we will also be donating 5% of our profits to values-aligned Australian not-for-profits, to support them in their great work.
We're doing things differently and we'd love you to join us. We're building our team, Advisory Board, community partners, and looking for local initiatives to support. Can we collaborate?
